On arrival in Haarlem we had a delicious organic lunch at Jetties. Photo credits: livlig-online.com

I’d never been in Haarlem, and now that I have, I don’t understand why I’ve never traveled there before. Haarlem is definitely a must! Is not that big a city, and the center offers everything you could want: big brands, unique shops, terraces, culture, history, small streets with tiny houses and lots of flowers, and large canal houses along the water. We’ve only walked around for a few hours, but these are my favorites already:

  • Jetties: delicious food made of honest products, 100% organic and from the region
  • Jutka & Riska: fantastic store with gorgeous 70s and 80s vintage high end designer labels
  • Greenwich Village: urban, bohemian and industrial interior designs
  • Supertrash: global fashion by Dutch designer Olcay Gulsen, one of my favorite brands lately
  • Dille & Kamille: natural materials, functional designs, authentic basics for your kitchen and bathroom
  • Stempels: historical building housing a pub, a bar, a brasserie (with large terrace), a restaurant and a hotel…

I hope to be going back there real soon to check out the rest of Haarlem. Have you ever been to Haarlem?
