This year (read: holday-period of 2011) I wasn’t in the spirit of the holidays at all, and fortunately, now I don’t have to any more. I think it’s time to say goodbye to all winter decorations and the prepare your house for spring. Ik ben dit jaar (lees: feestdagentijd van 2011) helemaal niet in de sfeer van de feestdagen gekomen, en nu hoeft het gelukkig niet meer. Het is wat mij betreft al tijd om afscheid te nemen van alle winter decoratie en het huis klaar te maken voor het voorjaar. Daarom en om het jaar goed te beginnen, lekker veel DIY projecten deze week!

Christmas dessert was delicious: a glass of hot white chocolate, made ​​with rice milk (lactose and sugar free) with melting white chocolate chips (yes, full of sugar, but too good to be true: Shocolat Hot Choco, available at Kaldi), with a shot of Malibu rum added to it and roasted marshmallows on a stick.

Oh and knitted my own glass-warmers as well! Very simple:

• buy Hema 36cl Picardie glasses (only € 1 .- per piece!)
• knit 19 stabbing of soft wool (tutorial in Dutch)
• knit – yarn round needle – knit 2 stitches together, followed by  a row purl, a row knit, a row purl (ajourknitting 2)
• repeat these 4 rows 15 times
• fasten off leaving a long thread (tutorial in Dutch)
• fold lengthwise, right sides together
• use your yarn-needle and the long thread to sew the two sides together
• turn inside out and put the glass in

Het kersttoetje was heerlijk: een glas warme witte chocolademelk, gemaakt met rijstemelk (lactose en suikervrij) met gesmolten witte chocolade chipjes (ja, vol suiker, maar te goed om waar te zijn: Shocolat Hot Choco, verkrijgbaar bij Kaldi), met een shot Malibu rum eraan toegevoegd en geroosterde marshmallows op een prikker. 

Oh en ik heb ook mijn eigen glas-warmertjes gebreid! Heel simpel:

• zet 19 steken op van zachte wol (tutorial)
• brei 1 toer recht-omslag-2steken, gevolgd door 1 toer averechts, 1 toer rechts, 1 toer averechts (ajourbreien 2)
• herhaal deze 4 toeren 15 keer
• hecht af en laat een lange draad over (tutorial)
• vouw dubbel, met de goede zijden op elkaar
• gebruik een wolnaald om met de lange draad beide zijden aan elkaar te naaien
• draai binnenste buiten en steek het glas er in
