Another jewelry trend are threaded necklaces and bracelets, sometimes referred to as friendship bracelets. These accessories are wrapped with thread to give them any color possible. And again, not that hard to recreate this trend, right?! Unraveled rope necklace by Woonwinkel

I’d been thinking about making a ring with metal diamond for quite some while, when I found these gorgeous designs by Macha Jewelry on Pinterest. They’re bold. They represent the raw material. They’re certainly less expensive than the real deal. But no less pretty. And they’re certainly no blood diamonds.

The Rockwell Line evolved organically from an accidental piece, rough nuggets are displayed in custom made settings with a subtlety that develops into classic forms with the passing of time. These are deliberately weathered pieces that inspire freedom and remove the reverence that surrounds the buying of that special piece. Pieces can be custom made in any karat gold or platinum.

Ad for the Love21 collection by Forever21, March 2011

I love this ad, even though it’s a year and a half old already. The pink scallop skirt is still very trendy and hot. This image was the starting point for my scallop pinboard, created as an inspirational board for a scallop shaped jewelry project in the near future.
