Caroline Issa for L.K. Bennett

Monday February 11 2013

L.K. Bennett might not be a very famous fashion brand in the Netherlands, but in England it’s even more popular. This is mainly because it’s the favorite brand of Kate Middleton. L.K. Bennett has recently collaborated with Caroline Issa, fashion director of Tank Magazine and a frequently seen figure at fashion shows and on street style blogs. Unlike the usual black or nude heels, this collaboration created a colorful collection of shoes and handbags, which will be launched on February 19, during fashion week, for prices ranging from $ 395 – $ 445. Take a look at these, gorgeous right?!

And a great project to DIY! A Matter of Style beat me to it…

Can you keep track of the endless possibilities?! Which are your favorite(s)? Mine is definitely the common pump, no platforms allowed when you’re 5 feet 8. Illustrations by Michelle Rick, check out Ever & Wright for the larger image…

Trend : Kitty flats

Saturday September 1 2012

Aren’t these kitty flats by Charlotte Olympia just TOO cute?! Comfortable flats, funny, fluffy, sweet and chic. Purrrrfect for cat lovers like myself and my friend miss R. Only downside, their pricing: £465.

But you know I won’t be posting about them, if I didn’t have some great alternatives for you. :-)

Some cheaper versions:

And some DIY tutorials:

What do you think of these shoes? Too much or too cute? I think I’ll follow Fashion Zen‘s advice and buy the ones from Brandos, just for the fun of them! (These are in leopard print, but are still very similar to the originals as they came in leopard as well!) More into mice than cats? Check out these cuties by Marc by Marc Jacobs: studded mouse flats.

Trend : Studded loafers

Friday August 31 2012

It all started with these Rollerball spiked velvet loafers by Christian Louboutin, which are of course sold out by now. But do not worry, there are plenty of brands that have copied these comfortable and bold loafers! I’ve collected some on my Pinterest-trend board on studded loafers.

I’d prefer the studded over the spiked, as they’re better suitable for work as well. Actually, they are also pretty easy to make yourself, eg using one of these DIY tutorials:

For some inspiration, click for enlarging these spiked or studded loafers:

design your own shoes at Shoes of Prey

Thursday August 16 2012

You can choose from Oxford, ballerinas, sandals, ankle boots, wedges and many more models at Shoes of Prey. After choosing the model you choose the colors and materials you’d like for your new shoes: snake leather, fish skin, plain leather, lacquer, silk, it’s all there. They’ve thought of every possible style and taste! Coping with a difficult shoe size? No worries, Shoes of Prey can make shoes from size 31 to 49, in whole and half sizes, extra wide or extra narrow. Ordering two different sizes is also possible, as the shoes are all made by hand. That does prolong the delivery time to approx 4 weeks. In the unfortunately case that you don’t like the shoes or they don’t fit perfectly, you can even return them and they’ll refund your money. Could it be any more perfect?

Curious how your new shoes will be made? Watch the video!

Baby needs a new pair of shoes

Saturday July 28 2012

I got myself not one, but two pair of new shoes last week! One of those are these ankle booties by Janet & Janet. These boots are definitely for autumn/winter, so even though I still hope we’ll see a bit more of summer this year, I’m already looking forward to be able to wear my new shoes!
