Ok, so I can almost hear you thinking: why on earth would you plan a trip to the States and go to Washington DC? Well, because my boyfriend was doing an internship there for three month. And even though the love between me and my boyfriend soon turned out to be over, I really fell in love for the city! This is no boring, dull, gray business-centered city at all!

Broad streets, little traffic, no New York-hectics, lots of green and so much to see & do! This was on my wish list and I nearly did them all:

Shopping:

• Georgetown, where I stayed for hours in Barnes & Noble, Dean & DeLuca and Anthropologie
• Alexandria, where I discovered America’s largest beads store Potomac Beads

Museums & sightseeing:

• Smithsonian
• The Mall
• U.S. Supreme Court
• Capitol
• White House
• Library of Congress
• Washington Monument
• Arlington Cementry
• Pentagon

Culture:

• football or baseball game (I went to see a baseball game with front row tickets, given to us for free while we were waiting in line)

Out of town:

• Alexandria
• Mount Vernon
• Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park
• Great Falls waterfalls (still on the list)
